The PiranhaMax series of Hummingbird fish finders includes pretty cheap, yet very useful fish finder models. Although none of the units in this series have navigational options, they are quite excellent tools for finding fish.
The Hummingbird Fish Finder PiranhaMax 190c is one of the most popular units in this series. Although it doesn’t have Down Imaging or Side Imaging you’ll still benefit from a very clear image of the bottom contour, structures or sunken objects, and of course, game fish or bait clouds.
It has only a Single Beam sonar, which emits a 20° beam which is quite reliable in waters up to 800 ft. deep. The power output of the Hummingbird Fish Finder PiranhaMax 190c goes up to 1600 Watts PTP, which is not bad at all. Up to 800 ft. you will get very clear returns.
The display of this Hummingbird fish finder is 256 color TFT, with LED backlight which gives it great readability either it’s a rainy day, the sun is bright, or you’re out for a night fishing session. The screen is not extremely wide, but a 3.5 inch diagonal, with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution is just about right for this fishfinder’s modest price.
All in all, the Hummingbird Fish Finder PiranhaMax 190c is a piece of electronic fishing equipment which for a fair price does its job, enabling you to find the big ones you’re looking for every time you’re out on water.
By the way, amazon.com has the wrong picture for this product there. The Humminbird Piranhamax 190c Amazon page has the photo of the Humminbird Piranhamax 180 model. Don’t worry, they will send you the right product, if you’re going to make a purchase.
