The PiranhaMAX 143 is one of the most basic fish finders from Humminbird at the moment. Although it may not be the most suitable choice for tracking fish on saltwater, if fishing from a kayak or small boat on a lake or river, it can serve its purpose excellently.
The PiranhaMAX 143 comes with a small head unit, with a 4-inch diagonal screen, 160V X 128H pixel resolution, 4 Level Grayscale monochrome display, with backlight. Regarding its fish finding capabilities, this unit comes with a Single Beam sonar, which can operate on a 200 kHz frequency, with a coverage of 20°. It has a 100 Watts (RMS) / 800 Watts (PTP) power output, which gives it a depth capability of 600 ft. Its standard transducer is a Transom XNT 9 20 T.
It comes with an Tilt Mounting Kit, but it can also work with an in-Dash Mounting Kit. This unit is also temperature capable. However, the selective FishID+ option, which most Humminbird fish finders have, is not supported by this unit.
