The ONIX8ci Combo is almost identical to the ONIX8ci SI Combo, but lacks the Side Imaging and Down Imaging technology. Apart from that, it’s quite a versatile fish finder / chartplotter, just as the other units within the ONIX series.
It has the 8.4-inch diagonal TouchScreen display, with a pixel resolution of 1024H X 768V, full color TFT and backlit. Has a power output of 500 Watts RMS (4,000 Watts PTP), but can reach 1,000 Watts RMS (8,000 Watts PTP) with an optional 50 kHz deepwater transducer. Also, there’s the option of a SM3000 transducer, with the CHIRP Ethernet SONAR module.
It has Dual Beam Plus sonar with SwitchFire, which can be operated in two modes: 200 kHz / 20° beam, 83 kHz / 60° beam. Its standard depth capability is 1,500 ft. but with a deepwater transducer, its capability is increased to 5,000 ft. Also, if equipped with a CHIRP sonar module, this unit can operate for depths of 10,000 ft. The standard transducer of the ONIX8ci Combo is a Transom XNT 14 20 T. The head unit has a Gimbal mount type, but there’s also the option of an In-Dash Mounting kit. Unit cover is included in the box as well.
Although this unit does not have Down Imaging and Side Imaging, 360 Imaging is an available option for it.
The navigational capabilities of the Humminbird ONIX8ci Combo include the built-in TriFuel Cartography package, allowing access to world background maps from Navionics, Lakemaster and C-MAP. Can store up to 3,000 waypoints, 50 routes and 50 tracks (20,000 points each), and can support Navionics Platinum+ and Gold/Hotmaps, Lakemaster and C-MAP SD cards. Precision GPS and NMEA2000 are also included, and Radar2 optional.
