The HELIX 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2 is similar has quite a few extra features to offer over the last year's HELIX 7 SI GPS unit. First of all, the new HELIX model has CHIRP sonar technology, second of all, it has the AC Live feature, and third, it's SmartStrike capable.
With regards to its fish finding features, the first aspect to mention here is that the unit comes with the XNT 9 SI 180 T transducer, which can also detect water temperature. This transducer supports all three sonar technologies of the unit, DualBeam Plus, Side Imaging and Down Imaging.
The HELIX 5 CHIRP SI GPS G2 is one of the newest models from Humminbird for 2017. It comes with quite a few improvements over the older HELIX 5 SI GPS. The major differences are the CHIRP sonar technology and the AutoChart Live capability. As its name suggests, it's a unit with GPS and Side Imaging sonar, but it also has Down Imaging and DualBeam Plus standard sonar, all CHIRP enhanced. As for base maps for navigation, it comes with the Humminbird UniMap charts.

It’s one of the best, if not the best Humminbird fish finder and GPS combos for 2016, and so far, in terms of price / quality ratio it stands quite a bit higher than the ONIX 10 SI Combo. So, let’s see what this unit has to offer.
To begin with,
The difference between the HELIX 10 SI GPS and the HELIX 9 SI GPS covers quite a bit more than just the 1″ difference in the display diagonal. The HELIX 10 also comes with the HD transducer, and it’s 800 kHz capable right out of the box. Evidently, there’s much more to say about this unit, so let’s start with its sonar capabilities.
First of all, this unit uses three types of sonar technology: Side Imaging, Down Imaging and 2D sonar. Unfortunately, it?s not CHIRP capable.
December 2015 marks the launch of the HELIX 9 series by Humminbird, which actually replaces the 900 series. Evidently, one of the most complete unit of this new series is the HELIX 9 SI GPS. As it’s name suggests, it’s a unit that has Side Imaging, Down Imaging, GPS, and comes with the preloaded ContourXD maps.
