The HELIX 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2 is similar has quite a few extra features to offer over the last year's HELIX 7 SI GPS unit. First of all, the new HELIX model has CHIRP sonar technology, second of all, it has the AC Live feature, and third, it's SmartStrike capable.
With regards to its fish finding features, the first aspect to mention here is that the unit comes with the XNT 9 SI 180 T transducer, which can also detect water temperature. This transducer supports all three sonar technologies of the unit, DualBeam Plus, Side Imaging and Down Imaging.
The new HELIX 7 CHIRP GPS G2 fish finder and chartplotter system comes with a few improvements over the older HELIX 7 GPS. As its name suggests, its sonar technology uses CHIRP, and along with that, this new unit comes with the AutoChart Live software, also being capable of using SmartStrike fishing charts.
This unit doesn’t have Side Imaging or Down Imaging, therefore, it’s considerably cheaper than the HELIX 7 CHIRP SI and DI models. It’s capable of three standard sonar frequencies
As opposed to the last year’s HELIX 7 DI GPS, the HELIX 7 CHIRP DI GPS G2, as its name suggests, is a fish finder with CHIRP technology. This unit actually has two types of sonar, DualBeam Plus (2D) and Down Imaging, both enhanced by CHIRP technology. CHIRP offers superior imaging with less clutter and a better separation between targets.
The unit comes with the temperature capable, XNT 9 DI T transducer, which supports both types of sonar, DI and DualBeam Plus. It’s also a CHIRP capable
There aren’t any significant differences between the older HELIX 5 DI model and the new HELIX 5 DI G2. However, since Humminbird brought a new generation of HELIX 5 units, they also released a Down Imaging and a Sonar Only unit. Therefore, since it’s a newer model, the G2 will probably replace the older HELIX 5 DI unit.
With regards to the specs of this unit, the HELIX 5 DI G2 is a standalone fish finder. However, it does offer two types of sonar: 2D and Down Imaging. It comes with
The HELIX 5 CHIRP GPS G2 is one of the most affordable fish finder and chartplotter combos from Humminbird for 2017. It doesn't include any fancy sonar features such as Side Imaging or Down Imaging, but as its name suggests, it does have CHIRP sonar technology.
Like all other Humminbird fish finders, this particular model comes with a transducer. The out-of-box transducer is the XNT 9 20 T, which is also temperature capable.
