1158c DI Combo

The Hummingbird Fish Finder 1158c DI Combo is one of the new models of high-quality fish finders from Humminbird. It was actually scheduled for release for 2012, but apparently they’ve already made it available.

Just like the other Hummingbird fish finders in the 1100 series, the 1158c DI combo is a big one. It has all the features and capabilities of the Hummingbird 1198c SI Combo, but without the Side Imaging technology.

The new 1158c DI Combo features a LED backlight display, 10.4 inches wide, full color, with a 600 x 800 pixel resolution, which means that you will benefit from a very nice and detailed overview of what’s under the boat in Down Imaging mode. You will even be able to see your jig while angling.

The Hummingbird fish finder 1158c DI Combo is equipped with DualBeam Plus sonar technology, meaning that you will be able to observe both 20° and 60° returns side by side, in split screen, or blended together for a more complete survey of the underwater environment. This unit features excellent wattage, going up to 4000 Watts PTP power output. As far as it concerns the DI reliability, you can get clear images down to 250ft.

This Hummingbird fish finder can also serve as a great navigational tool. It’s endowed with a very precise GPS, and has chartplotting and trackplotting functions. It also comes with the built-in ContourXD package (a 3,000+ U.S. lakes database) which will give you a great overview of almost any lake in the U.S. It’s Navionics and LakeMaster compatible, but the Navionics card is not included in the package.

Its memory card can store up to 3,000 waypoints, 50 tracks – 20,000 points each, and up to 50 itineraries that you can reconstruct anytime you want.

Last but not least, the Hummingbird Fish Finder 1158c DI Combo is Ethernet compatible, and you can share waypoints or sonar with other Hummingbird Fish Finders.

1198c SI Combo

The Hummingbird Fish Finder 1198c SI Combo is, no doubt, the best out of all Hummingbird Fish Finders. Although a bit spicy priced, it’s the most complete Humminbird Fish Finder at the moment. If money isn’t a problem, this is THE fish finder that you should invest in, to take your fishing experience at maximum.

It has the super wide display of the 1100 series, 10.4-inch diagonal, 600V x 800H pixel resolution, LED backlight, full color. Has DualBeam Plus/SwitchFire sonar technology, with a reliability up to 1500ft depth. It has both Side Imaging and Down Imaging options which double its usefulness, providing you with photo-like clarity images down to 150-200ft, on  480ft from side to side, on Side Imaging.

It has an external 50 channel GPS, compatible with Navionics and Lakemaster, also including the ContourXD mapping system, built-in. Like most Hummingbird Fish Finders, the 1198c SI Combo has a memory of 3000 waypoints, 50 routes, 50 tracks (20,000 points each). Since it’s an 1100 series fish finder, it has Ethernet options, offering you the possibility of sharing waypoints, sonar or routes with other Humminbird products.

1158c Combo

The Hummingbird Fish Finder 1158c Combo is one of the latest generation fish finders. The extreme 10.4-inch diagonal display, full color with a super 600V x 800H resolution will provide you with excellent quality images, close to the clarity of a photo.

Although this fish finder isn’t endowed with Side Imaging and Down Imaging sonar technology its huge screen and all its other option still make it a super tool for finding fish and navigation.  Once you get used to the SwitchFire returns, this Hummingbird Fish Finder will become as reliable as one with SI imaging. It’s DualBeam Plus/SwitchFire sonar has a capability of 1500ft penetration, with up to 8000 Watts power output possibility. It has the option of being equipped with 200/50 kHz transducer, which will increase its reliability even in 3000 ft deep waters.

Of course, like any other high-end Hummingbird Fish Finders, the Hummingbird Fish Finder 1158c Combo is Navionics and LakeMaster compatible, having a dual SD card slot for any of these two options. Has a 50 channel external GPS, extremely quick and accurate. Due to its huge screen, this fish finder can be used a navigational instrument, considering the chartplotting and trackplotting options. Also, it has a build-in ContourXD mapping system, by Navionics. It’s memory can store 3000 waypoints, 50 routes and 50 tracks.

Lastly, just as the other 800+ Hummingbird Fish Finders, has network options, therefore, you’ll be able to share waypoints, routes and even sonar with other Hummingbird Fish Finders via Ethernet.
